SPSAE 2019:

The annual University of Toronto Shelley Peterson Student Art Exhibition celebrates the work of undergraduate art students from the visual studies/studio programs of the University of Toronto's three campuses - UTSC, UTM, and St. George. 

The exhibition offers a unique opportunity for student artists to show their work in a professional gallery setting and to gain recognition through their achievements and excellence. Based on specific criteria, a jury panel of distinguished members from the University of Toronto arts community will select three artworks to be awarded cash prizes of $500. 

The Shelley Peterson Student Art Exhibition will be held at the Art Museum at the University of Toronto from April 17-May 18, 2019. 

Guidelines and Requirements:


  1. Be a current undergraduate student in a Studio Arts or Visual Studies program at the University of Toronto (St. George, UTM or UTSC campus)

  2. Complete the Google application form including:

    • Contact information (name, address, UofT email address)

    • Program, year and campus

    • Artist biography (max. 150 words)

    • Artist statement (max. 250 words)

    • One to three artworks (title, date, dimensions, medium, weight, and best quality documentation of the artworks)

  3. Each artist may submit ONE form (each form can include up to 3 different artworks for consideration)

Deadline: February 10, 2019 (11:59 PM EST)

All applicants will be notified about the final selection of artworks by February 19th, 2019. If selected, the images you provide in this form may be used for promotional purposes.
